Meet The Team

Stephanie Brown
OWNER
Happy Trails began during Stephanie’s college days as a way of helping family and friends when they had to leave their beloved pets for work or vacation. Initially, Happy Trails was mainly focused on horse care and professional riding, ensuring that client’s horses were kept in top condition. As time went on, Stephanie managed a small horse farm in Far Hills, NJ while she was employed at a renown equine medical facility. Working in veterinary medicine for some of the best veterinarians in NJ increased her desire to offer the best care possible for her own pet-sitting clients. Some of these services included post-surgical cases, as well as basic puppy visits. But soon there was a growing need to offer daily dog walks to clients who worked long hours and felt guilty leaving their furry family member home in a crate all day, and so HAPPY TRAILS was off and running!!
Stephanie meets all potential clients prior to service to ensure that all requested needs can be met, and that the caregiver assigned to the task is the best fit possible. Her animal experience is broad and varied, based not only on her background as a Veterinary Technician in both large and small animal practices for over ten years, but also her exposure to barn life and livestock as a young child.
Stephanie shares family life in Long Valley with their 11-year-old Boxer-mix rescue, Zoey, their 3 yr. old Westie Rescue, Grayson, and their rescued cat, Tini, saved at 3 weeks old after she was abandoned by her mother.

Nicole
Staff Manager / Team Leader
We are very fortunate to her thoughtful and conscientious approach to the responsibilities of caring for our precious pet and their owners. Nicole has an extensive background in pet-sitting and animal care and we are lucky to have her valuable experience working for Happy Trails. In her “off” hours Nicole volunteers with SNORT (Short Nose Only Rescue Team) when she organizes the holiday gift exchange for the foster dogs as well as fostering on occasion. The senior fosters hold a special place in her heart.
Nicole lives locally in Mt. Olive with her husband and teenage daughter, as well their four canine kids, two guinea pigs and a turtle.

Jan
Pet Care Specialist
I am a mom of two adult sons, the wife of a retired NJ State Trooper and the proud owner of 4 rescue dogs, one bunny and a bearded dragon. I have been employed for the last year at a national store chain boarding facility and in that time I have learned that I am absolutely meant to work with animals and that I am not willing to compromise the level of care that I will provide when an unknown unseen owner wants to cut corners to save money. These two realizations has led me to Happy Trails Professional Pet Sitting & Equine Services LLC.
Meeting with Stephanie was such a great experience because she has the same belief I do about the level of care that is our standard.
I am comfortable handling dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments and have learned to read animals to understand when they want a little extra TLC or if they feel better with me not being too much in their personal space.
I hope to meet you and your pets soon!

I grew up in Pennsylvania and always had pets to love and take care of. My Great Grandfather built our original lake house there in 1930. We spend a lot of special time there. I love being outdoors and active. I believe there is no such thing as spending too much time with animals whether they are mine, friends, or yours! All of your family’s pets will be given lots of love and care.

Marilyn
Pet Care Specialist
Marilyn grew up with several cats through the years. When she got married, her husband wanted a dog and that’s what started it all. Her husband Bill had no idea what he was in for after that as she became a huge ‘dog’ person. Marilyn and her husband currently have several dogs and cats. She has a special liking for hounds, especially Basset Hounds and Beagles. They formerly fostered for animal rescue groups and flunked five times. They also have a soft heart for dogs with special needs as they adopted two blind basset hounds that have since passed away, and they currently have a basset hound that went blind from glaucoma. They had all three blind Basset Hounds at the same time. She has a love for all animals, and she is a vegetarian.
